Nice progress. That gauge cluster looks sweet! I see you're looking for 16" track wheels. I'd think the jump to a 17 would yield a much better tire selection.
Just how short is the throw on that shifter? I'm quite happy with the length of the throw on my AKG stage 2(?) shifter, but due to the fulcrum point, sometimes I have trouble getting reverse on the tilted G260 trans. I'm lacking just a hair more movement in that direction.S50'd

Thanks man! I've decided at this point to just run the 15" TRMs this year. I'm still on 15x7s now, and I'be got a set of Toyo R1As to burn up in 205-50-15. After that I'll explore other options. Apexes in 17" will probably end up getting the nod, and I'm thinking about getting a set of flares for the arches. I detest poke up front...
I'll try and shoot a little video of the shifter tonight after work. It's VERY short. No problems at all getting to Reverse. I'm running a ZF, though...might have something to do with it.
6 weeks until the 1st DP of the year for me. Can't flipping WAIT!!!!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

So, I've started to pick up a few more of the parts I was wanting for Siobhan...and there are a few more goodies en route!
Early model iS airdam. The foglights will be sold, and brake ducts will go in their place...
I got this for a song at Bimmers R Us in St. Louis, Missouri. Thanks guys!
M Power beauty cover
I've been looking for one of these for a long time, with no success. I'd pretty much given up, and was just running the M50 cover on my OBD1-swapped S52. Fell into this one last week! I know it won't help me go faster, but I hated having the M50 cover on there still...
Levent at Guten Parts recently received a shipment of cool stuff from Europe. Among the parts he got was a Zender Evo-type wing with an adjustable gurney flap. Rare as hen's teeth! I had to jump on the wing, and it should balance out the front splitter I'll be putting on the early model airdam. Thanks Levent!!!!
More soon!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

With the Gurney flap down, just mocked up on Siobhan
Can't wait to tidy her up & mount her with the Gurney flap up!
Here's the new wheels...
TRM C1s, but in 15x8, rather than the 15x7s I had before. I sold the old set to Jeremy Salenius...who had sold them to ME in the first place. :)
And the new harnesses, with sub belt mounting stuff
I'll be mounting those up tomorrow :)
I'll be a busy boy tomorrow...More pics soon!

Thanks, dood. She's getting there.
Did some more track prep on her today. Adjusted the brake booster out a bit, bled the brakes, cleaned up some wiring...and added some stickers.

Just a couple of quick pics from last weekend at Heartland Park...
Siobhan waiting to go out and play
She did great on track!
My friend & co-driver for the weekend, Andy Staiano, getting ready to head out for laps on a wet track...
Andy was seriously fast! He recorded track sessions for each of us on his GoPro, and it was invaluable having feedback from a much more experienced driver in the same car. Thanks man!
More soon!

A couple more shots from the track weekend...
The rain came Sunday afternoon. R Comps are no bueno in the wet, so we bolted up my crap-tastic Prime PZ900s and out we went. Those tires were only ever intended to get the car to-and-from the track. I'd never run on R Comps before, but the Toyo RA1s were awesome!! Honestly I'm not ready for them, and really wasn't pushing them, but I've had them taking up space in my garage, so I figured I might as well run `em!
Had a friggin' BLAST at Heartland Park. The car had a couple of small issues, but overall performed incredibly well on track. Cannot wait to get back on track!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

Working on the Zender wing restoration a bit...
I bought a very rare Zender wing and Gurney flap from Guten Parts a while ago, but I haven't had much time to start working on it until recently. Time to change that!
A pic of the wing (Gurney flap all the way down) when it was still at Guten Parts.
Yeah...pretty much had to buy that. You can see the orange paint under the pretty lousy black paint, if you look at the front of the wing where it meets the trunk. This piece deserves better...
Sooo...starting to work on her:
This is how the inside of the Gurney flap looked before I started...
...progress
That's the outside of the flap, actually, but you get the idea.
Working on the wing itself...
That's how she looked when I stopped working on her yesterday...
...and how she looks now.
(top of wing)
(bottom of wing)
The orange paint was applied really well. The black coat on top of it...yeah...no. Looking forward to having this all done. Of course, then the rest of my car will need to be refreshed!!
